Held this weekend, the impact is doubled compared to the last edition, with hotels and restaurants as the main sectors to benefit, as well as companies linked to congress tourism.
The average spending of visitors at the two-and-a-half-day congress was over €600 per attendee, most of whom came from abroad.
The second edition of the international congress on economics and business Andorra Economic Forum AEF closes the doors with a direct economic impact on the country of more than €600,000. This new meeting of the leading voices in the business and entrepreneurship sector, organized by the Andorran companies Abast and Racks Labs, has brought together almost a thousand attendees at the Andorra la Vella Congress Center and has been structured around individual presentations and four panels: digital economy, technology, real estate and digital business.
This is an event with a top-level line-up, with more than 30 speakers, including Juan Ramón Rallo, Daniel Lacalle, Iván Espinosa de los Monteros and Rubén Manso. All tickets, priced between €150 and €3,000, were sold out weeks before the event, thus consolidating this congress as an international reference in southern Europe in this sector.
“We are very satisfied with this second edition, both for the success of the turnout, the quality of the interventions and the positive feedback,” explains Marc Urgell, managing partner of Abast, the company co-organising the event. “Furthermore, we believe that it is an opportunity for the country to make itself known to the congress tourism public. Many of the attendees were visiting Andorra for the first time and they have told us that they have taken away a very good impression of the country,” he adds.
The vast majority of these, approximately 85%, travelled from Spain to attend the congress, having a significant impact on overnight stays this weekend in the Principality. The organisation estimates that the average expenditure of the attendee has been over €600, including only the entrance fee, accommodation and food and excluding expenditure on leisure, shopping or other activities outside the congress.
The event was made possible by national and international sponsors, as well as the Andorran organizing companies, Abast and Racks Labs. In this sense, the involvement of Morabanc as main sponsor stands out, as well as sponsors Paulson AM, Inversiva, Lucas Fox and collaborators Grandvalira, Hotmart, Black Hat and Universidad de las Hespérides.
The second edition has closed with a very positive balance and with the aim of continuing to grow as an event. Compared to last year, the number of days has doubled, the number of speakers has increased by 50% and the cheapest ticket has risen from €39 to €150. In addition, new types of tickets have been incorporated, such as Gold and Diamond, with extra events within the framework of the congress and a dedicated application has been created to promote networking among attendees.
