Interview with Alejandro Salvador, organizer of Momentum, event sponsored by Abast

What is the Momentum event and what is its added value?

The Momentum event was born 4 years ago out of the importance of bringing to the general public the way of analysing companies and investing of the best investment fund managers in Spain. This will be the second time that it is held in Andorra, after the trust placed again by Andbank to be the main sponsor of the event. Previously, the first two editions were held in Madrid and Avilés (Asturias).

The event will take place on Saturday, October 26 and will be a mix of different round tables on macroeconomic topics and the presentation of investment theses by some of the best Spanish managers.

What are the main new features of this edition?

The main novelty is the use of the Andbank space for the event. On the other hand, it will be the first year where the live streaming will be offered completely free of charge, thanks to the main sponsors of the event, Andbank and Mexem. To sign up for the streaming (which will also allow you to watch the event on a delayed basis) you only have to sign up through the following link: https://momentum.financial/

For those who wish to attend in person, due to high demand from the Momentum community, there are only a dozen tickets left, which can be purchased through the following link: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/momentumfinancial/1351537

What are some of the most notable names?

This year we will have some of the best Spanish managers who were unable to participate 12 months ago, such as Gabriel Castro from Singular AM and Daniel Tello from Azagala Capital. Other managers such as Luis Torras and Marc Garrigasait will be back, as will Rodrigo Villanueva, who will bring us the thesis of an Asian small cap recently added to his portfolio. We will also have a round table on different Macroeconomic topics led by Alex Fuste, chief economist at Andbank.

Why do you decide to hold an event like this in Andorra?

We believe that the level of financial education in Andorra is clearly higher than in Spain, which makes it easier for sponsors from the Principality to participate in the event. Furthermore, although connections are sometimes complicated, the country's infrastructure allows more than 100 attendees to attend in person without any problem. Finally, we would like to highlight the hospitality of the people of the country and their openness to holding events like this.

What role does your community play in these types of events?

The community is the core of the event, it's the reason we set out to do it. Ultimately the goal is for people to come and interact over a weekend with professional managers, but also with the most prominent members of the community. In that sense, the feeling of camaraderie among attendees is what we highlight the most and the main reason why we have done this every year since we founded Momentum.
